Something Surprised Me While Watching This Film

Have you ever watched something that made you suddenly understand yourself a little more clearly?

That is exactly what happened when I watched the film He Calls Me Daughter.

It will be in theaters March 17 and 18, and I recently had the chance to talk with the filmmaker, Rick Altizer, on The Alita Reynolds Show

If you would like to hear the heart behind this film and why it was created, I encourage you to watch our conversation. Rick shares how God led him to create the film and why he believes so many women will recognize parts of their own story in it.

During our conversation I shared something that honestly surprised me.

While watching the film, I began realizing that some of the ways I have approached life in the past were connected to what Rick calls a father wound.

Now hear me clearly. I have a great dad and we have a wonderful relationship. I love him deeply and I am grateful for him. This film helped me see how even subtle childhood experiences can shape how we see ourselves and even how we view God.

Rick shared something powerful.

Many women learn early in life that they receive affirmation when they achieve something. When they perform. When they do more.

So we keep going.

Serving. Achieving. Helping. Producing.

But somewhere deep inside we may still feel like we have to prove our value.

This film gently points us back to The Truth.

There is one perfect Father. And our Heavenly Father calls us daughters simply because we belong to Him.

That message alone makes this film worth seeing.

I encourage you to grab a friend, plan a girls night out, and see He Calls Me Daughter in theaters March 17 or 18.

I truly believe this film is going to help many women see the heart of God in a deeper way.

And that kind of healing can change everything.

I’m wildly cheering you!
