The Wall You Keep Hitting Might Be Offense
Friend, have you ever felt like you are doing all the right things, yet it still feels like something is in the way of intimacy with God?
You pray, you worship, you read the Word, and you still feel like you keep hitting a wall.
I want to say this gently, because I have seen it so many times in my own life and in the lives of others. That wall might be built with the bricks of being offendable. Let me explain.
Offense is not always loud. It is often subtle and hidden, and that is exactly why it is so powerful. It can live under the surface as disappointment, frustration, resentment, or an unresolved wound you have learned to ignore.
Even when you do not name it, feeling offended still does its work. Offense hardens the heart. It blocks tenderness. It quietly creates distance between you and God, and sometimes you cannot even explain why you feel far from Him.
Here is the hope. God does not expose your heart to shame you, and neither do I. He invites you to let Him heal you. When you ask Him to search your heart for barriers to His love, He will answer. That is why Psalm 139:23-24 is such a gift. You do not have to figure this out alone.
You can sit with Jesus and say, Lord, show me what is in my heart. Reveal anything in me that is keeping me bound. When He reveals it, you can repent, receive forgiveness, and walk forward lighter than you have felt in a long time.
Offense will come, Jesus promised that. However, staying offended is not your calling. Freedom is.
I want you to watch the full episode Offense Is the Trap Keeping You From Intimacy With God | Freedom from Offense Part 1 on The Alita Reynolds Show. Let the Lord meet you as we walk through this together.
I’m wildly cheering you!
