You’re Still Punishing Yourself… But Why?

If you’ve ever struggled to forgive yourself, I want you to know, you’re not alone. In fact, this is something I’ve personally wrestled with for years.
Even after experiencing God’s forgiveness, I kept punishing myself with guilt and shame. I knew in my head that Jesus paid it all, and yet my heart still carried the weight.
That’s why I recorded this episode of the Alita Reynolds Show. It’s the final part of our Finding Freedom Through Forgiveness series, it’s the most personal. I open up about my own journey with self-forgiveness and how the Lord patiently walked me into true freedom.
Maybe you’ve been there too, rehashing old mistakes, silently condemning yourself, or feeling unworthy of God’s love.
Here’s the truth: when we choose to forgive ourselves, we’re not saying our sin didn’t matter. We’re saying that Jesus’s sacrifice was enough. His grace is greater than our shame.
We unpack how to live in the freedom Jesus offers, without dragging around the chains of past regrets. We talk about the difference between conviction and condemnation, how unforgiveness opens the door to the enemy, and how to finally close that door, once and for all.
If you’ve been carrying guilt or silently suffering under the weight of your past, I really want to encourage you: take time to watch the full episode. Let it speak to your heart.
You don’t have to stay stuck in shame. There is freedom available and it starts with accepting what God has already declared over you: forgiven, redeemed, and deeply loved.
I'm wildly cheering you!
Alita
