How to Stop Building a Life God Never Intended for You

Living with a holy rhythm is not about striving harder. Instead, it’s about surrendering deeper. In Matthew 11, Jesus invites us to “learn the unforced rhythms of grace.” That means we don’t have to live like the world lives, constantly hustling and pushing forward in our own strength. We have a choice.
We can either choose a common rhythm, dictated by the world, or a holy rhythm, designed by God.
Friend, we must choose daily. It requires us to pause, create margin, and ask, “Am I chasing my goals, or God’s goals for my life?” There’s nothing wrong with ambition, but worldly ambition will always leave us empty. Godly ambition, however, fills us with purpose because it’s tied to eternal impact. It’s not about climbing higher, it’s about bowing lower. Humility, service, and obedience are where we can find true significance.
I know how easy it is to get caught up in our own agendas, plans, and even our own definition of success. When we realign with God's purpose for our lives, everything changes. The work becomes lighter because it’s not ours to carry alone. The results become richer because they’re anointed by Him.
Scripture reminds us in Colossians 3:23 that “whatever you do, do it enthusiastically, as something done for the Lord.” That means every task, whether big or small, can carry eternal weight when we do it with the right heart posture.
This is what I want for you: to walk in rhythm with Him, to let His grace set the pace of your days.
