Peeling Back the Layers

Hey there!
I want to take a moment to encourage you with something close to my heart—a message straight from a recent episode that I truly hope you’ll take the time to watch in full. We are kicking off the new series, “What’s It Like to Be in a Real Relationship with Me.”
We live in a world where love is often conditional. However, as women of faith, our mission is to experience a deeper relationship with Jesus. That means we're called to be set apart—to love like He loves. And let’s be honest, that’s not always easy. Luke 6:32 reminds us that we get no credit if we love only those who love us back. Even unbelievers do that. What sets us apart is loving the “unlovable.”
In the episode, I share a story about an onion—yes, an onion! Over time, it grows a new tender shoot from within, even though its outer layers are crusty and hard. Isn’t that a picture of how God works in us? We all carry wounds and have tough layers, but as we grow closer to Jesus, He peels those layers away. He renews us. And suddenly, that new life begins to grow right from the center—right from the heart.
Matthew 7:12 reminds us to treat others how we want to be treated, not how we have been treated. When we are healed, when we yield to Jesus, we can truly love others—even the hardest hearts—with His compassion.
So I challenge you: Are you loving well? Are you loving like Jesus in your everyday life?
If this topic resonates with you, please watch the entire episode! There’s so much more to this message. Let it speak to your heart, so you can keep growing as a woman who grows to reflect His love, even through the hardest layers.
