Freedom from Offense Part 4

What if the reason you feel hurt in relationships is not what people did, but what you expected? In this episode of this series, we uncover how unrealistic and unspoken expectations quietly lead to offense. This conversation will help you walk in freedom, clarity, and deeper peace in your relationships.

I want to walk with you through something that has personally challenged me and transformed the way I see relationships. So many of the offenses we carry are not rooted in betrayal, but in assumptions, unmet expectations, and disappointment we never slowed down to recognize.

As women of faith, we are not called to live easily offended. We are called to reflect Jesus in the way we love, forgive, and extend grace. When you become aware of how expectations are shaping your reactions, you begin to step into a new level of freedom.

Here are some of the key takeaways from this episode:

  • Offense often starts with unspoken expectations that were never communicated
    • Many offenses are rooted in assumptions, not intentional harm
    • Placing God sized expectations on people leads to disappointment and hurt
    • People cannot fulfill what only God was designed to provide
    • Expecting healed responses from unhealed people creates unnecessary offense
    • Understanding where someone is helps you guard your heart without excusing behavior
    • Jesus modeled relationships with clarity and without unrealistic expectations
    • Disappointment is often a signal of misplaced expectations
    • Freedom begins when you release expectations that were never meant to be there

My heart for you is that you would live light, free, and deeply connected to Jesus. You do not have to carry the weight of disappointment. When you allow God to be your source and release unrealistic expectations, you create space for grace, peace, and healthy relationships.

I’m wildly cheering you!
